Sompasauna

A free sauna by the sea. Always open.

No staff, no entry fee, no bookings. Sompasauna is kept running by volunteers on the shore of Sompasaari – come and throw the löyly yourself.

Nine rules

  1. Sompasauna is always open. There is no staff – you heat the sauna yourself.
  2. The sauna is free of charge. If you wish, you can donate or join the association.
  3. A mixed sauna for everyone. There are no separate shifts for women or men.
  4. Clothing is optional. You can bathe and swim naked or in a swimsuit.
  5. Bring drinking water and a towel. There is no running water, no showers, no washing facilities.
  6. Bring your own padlock. There are no changing rooms; there are lockers for valuables.
  7. Zero tolerance for harassment. Troublemakers can be banned from the sauna. Report harassment via the SafeSompis form.
  8. No photography, no speakers. Acoustic music and singing are welcome – there is even a piano.
  9. Don't be stupid. Support Sompasauna. Every euro keeps us warm.

Is the sauna warm right now?
